Summary: The Data Security Compliance Advisor role is a full-time position on a 12-month fixed-term contract, primarily focused on managing data subject requests under the UK GDPR. The advisor will enhance internal documentation, collaborate on compliance tools, and support the Data Protection Officer in promoting data security awareness across the organization. This hybrid role requires a strong understanding of UK data protection laws and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. The position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end process of fulfilling data subject requests under the UK GDPR.
  • Enhance internal documentation and communication regarding data subject request processes.
  • Collaborate on the development and integration of compliance tools.
  • Conduct reviews of existing assessment processes and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in optimizing record-keeping and assessment processes.
  • Contribute to organization-wide data protection processes and training initiatives.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer in communicating data security compliance importance.
  • Provide well-written guidance in response to data protection inquiries.
  • Represent the team in meetings and industry events.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of UK data protection law, including UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Recognized data protection qualifications (e.g., UK GDPR Practitioner, CIPP/E, CIPM).
  • Experience fulfilling data subject requests under UK GDPR.
  • Ability to provide guidance on UK data protection law to stakeholders.
  • Proven experience handling confidential information.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office/O365.
