Summary: The Data Scientist role is a 9-month fixed-term contract focused on leveraging advanced modeling techniques to address complex business challenges, particularly in customer behavior analysis and electric vehicle transition insights. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to develop actionable insights through machine learning and statistical analysis. The successful candidate will create dashboards and visualizations to support strategic decision-making. This role is hybrid, allowing for remote work up to two days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build predictive models to analyse customer behaviour and identify risks (e.g., misuse, affordability, EV readiness)
- Use statistical techniques such as regression and hypothesis testing to derive insights
- Create impactful dashboards and visualisations that support business storytelling
- Apply NLP techniques to analyse qualitative customer feedback
- Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with teams across the business to deliver insight-led solutions
Key Skills:
- Strong background in machine learning, data science, and advanced analytics using Python
- Skilled in SQL and experienced with cloud platforms such as Snowflake and SageMaker
- Able to clearly communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, analytical environment
- Passion for solving real-world business problems using data
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics)
- Experience applying machine learning to structured and unstructured data
- Strong technical expertise in Python, SQL, and data visualisation
- Demonstrated impact through previous data science projects
- Strong analytical problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
