Summary: The role of Data Scientist/Data Engineer involves joining a cutting-edge tech business to build a next-generation data platform. This hands-on position requires close collaboration with the CTO to design and deliver end-to-end data pipelines and advanced AI capabilities. The candidate will be responsible for ingesting and transforming unstructured data and embedding machine learning and NLP into a cloud-native architecture. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver end-to-end data pipelines and advanced AI-driven capabilities.
- Ingest and transform unstructured data.
- Build scalable data pipelines.
- Embed machine learning, NLP, and semantic search into a modular architecture.
- Shape core architecture and influence technical direction.
- Work on complex data and AI challenges.
Key Skills:
- Strong Python for data processing, pipelines, and ML integration.
- Experience building end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT, orchestration).
- Solid knowledge of SQL & NoSQL databases (data lakes, metadata, graph models).
- Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with distributed data processing (Spark/Flink).
- Foundations in machine learning/NLP (embeddings, summarisation, vector search).
- Containerised environments using Docker & Kubernetes.
- Strong focus on data quality, security & scalability.
