Summary: A leading financial services company is seeking a Data Scientist for a 6-month contract based in York or Manchester, with a hybrid working arrangement. The role involves delivering impactful data science solutions in a collaborative Agile environment, focusing on advanced analytics to drive business value. The successful candidate will work closely with a team to develop and maintain production-grade models while collaborating with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Apply the data science lifecycle (design, EDA, building, evaluation, deployment, monitoring) to deliver scalable MVPs.
- Develop and optimize production-grade data science models using Python.
- Design solutions for business challenges using diverse datasets and advanced ML/statistical techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance analytics practices.
- Write high-quality, maintainable Python code adhering to best practices.
- Stay updated on new techniques and share insights with the team.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in data science or advanced analytics.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with Test-Driven Development (eg, pytest).
- Familiarity with version control and IT delivery tools.
- Ability to apply machine learning to solve business problems.
- Experience building predictive/prescriptive models for actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings to diverse audiences.
