About the Role

My client is seeking an experienced Microsoft Power Apps Specialist to design, develop and maintain business applications across the Microsoft Power Platform.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Power Apps and Microsoft Dataverse, with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure and user-friendly solutions.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and other Power Platform specialists to deliver applications that improve business processes, increase efficiency and provide users with effective digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain Microsoft Power Apps, including both Canvas Apps and Model-driven Apps.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify opportunities for process improvement and translate business needs into effective Power Platform solutions.
  • Design and configure Microsoft Dataverse, including tables, columns, relationships, views, forms, business rules and other data components.
  • Develop applications that integrate effectively with Dataverse and other Microsoft services and systems.
  • Manage and support Power Platform environments, ensuring appropriate separation between development, test and production environments.
  • Work with solutions to package, manage and deploy Power Platform applications and components between environments.
  • Apply appropriate security and permissions across Power Apps and Dataverse, including users, teams, security roles and access to applications and data.
  • Troubleshoot application, data and configuration issues, identifying and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Power Platform applications, ensuring they remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose.
  • Follow Power Platform development best practices, with consideration for performance, scalability, maintainability and governance.
  • Support the implementation of appropriate Power Platform governance and development standards.
  • Work collaboratively with developers, architects, business analysts and other technical stakeholders throughout the application life cycle.
  • Provide technical input into solution design and help identify opportunities to maximise the use of the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Support testing, deployment and ongoing application maintenance across the Power Platform estate.
  • Ensure solutions are appropriately documented and that technical and functional requirements are clearly understood.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience developing applications using Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Hands-on experience with both Canvas Apps and Model-driven Apps.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse, including:
  • Tables and columns
  • Relationships
  • Views and forms
  • Business rules
  • Security roles
  • Data management and configuration
  • Practical experience working with Power Platform environments and environment strategy.
  • Experience using Power Platform Solutions and deploying applications/components between development, test and production environments.
  • Good understanding of Power Apps and Dataverse security, including users, teams, security roles and permissions.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Power Platform applications.
  • Understanding of Power Platform development best practices, governance, security and performance considerations.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical and user-friendly technical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider technical and business teams.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience integrating Power Apps with other Microsoft technologies and business systems.
  • Knowledge of Power Automate and using automated workflows alongside Power Apps.
  • Experience working with Power Platform governance and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management).
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 services and their integration with Power Platform.
  • Experience working within enterprise-scale Power Platform environments.
  • Experience supporting applications through the full development life cycle, from requirements gathering and design through to deployment and support.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Power Apps specialist with strong experience building and supporting business applications within the Microsoft Power Platform.

You will combine good technical knowledge with the ability to understand business problems and develop practical solutions.

You should be comfortable working across Power Apps, Dataverse, environments, solutions and security, while also being able to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and contribute to good development and governance practices.
