Data Quality Tester

Summary: The Data Quality Tester role involves ensuring data quality across ingestion, transformation, and reporting pipelines within a data engineering team. The position requires building robust testing processes to identify defects and improve release quality while collaborating with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders. The role is based in London or Fareham, with a hybrid working arrangement. The contract offers a competitive daily rate of up to £300.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure data quality across ingestion, transformation, and reporting pipelines.
• Build robust testing processes to identify defects before they reach the business.
• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to improve release quality.
• Reduce testing cycles and ensure confidence in the organisation's data platform.

Key Skills:

• Strong experience in Data Quality Testing.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Experience testing ETL/ELT pipelines and Data Warehouses.
• Experience validating BI reports and data transformations.
• Strong understanding of data reconciliation and data validation techniques.
• Experience creating automated regression tests.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Desirable: Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar modern data platforms.
• Desirable: Experience with Power BI or other reporting platforms.
• Desirable: Knowledge of data quality tools such as Great Expectations, Soda, or dbt tests.
• Desirable: Experience with Python for test automation.
