Job Title: Data Protection SpecialistLocation: ManchesterContract Type: Initial 3-Month Contract (Potential extension to 6 months)Rate: 400 per dayStart Date: ASAPOverview:I m seeking to speak to an experienced Data Protection Specialist to join a leading organisation in the energy sector, based in Manchester. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, with a particular focus on building out and delivering Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs).Key Responsibilities:Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs): Lead the development and delivery of comprehensive DPIAs for various projects, ensuring all potential privacy risks are identified and mitigated.Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs): Build out and maintain ROPAs, ensuring they are up-to-date, accurate, and comply with GDPR requirements.Compliance and Advisory: Provide expert advice on data protection matters, including GDPR compliance, data subject rights, and data breach management.Policy Development: Contribute to the creation and enhancement of data protection policies and procedures across the organisation.Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal teams, including Legal, IT, and Compliance, to ensure data protection requirements are fully integrated into business processes.Training and Awareness: Support the development and delivery of data protection training and awareness programs across the organisation.Essential Skills & Experience:Proven experience in a data protection role, with a strong focus on delivering DPIAs and maintaining ROPAs.In-depth knowledge of GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.Ability to analyse complex data processing activities and identify potential risks.Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels.Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.Certification in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) is highly desirable.If this sounds like something you are interested in, please get in contact:thomas.deakin@spgresourcing.comSPG Resourcing is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace which values and benefits from the diversity of the workforce we hire.
