Summary: The Data Protection Specialist role involves providing expert guidance on data protection compliance for internal business projects within a FTSE 250 Financial Services Company specializing in Retirement Solutions. The position requires collaboration with the Data Protection Officer to ensure adherence to UK and EU data protection laws. The contract is for 3 months and is hybrid, requiring 2 to 3 days a week in the office. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in data protection and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the Data Protection SME across multiple internal projects.
  • Reviewing and assessing DPIAs, providing recommendations or remediation actions.
  • Assisting in client rights requests (e.g., DSARs).
  • Supporting general compliance with UK GDPR, EU GDPR, PECR, and other relevant data protection laws.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to find pragmatic and compliant solutions.

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Data Protection Specialist or DPO.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR, PECR.
  • Proven experience working with stakeholders to deliver practical compliance solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • CIPP/E or GDPR Practitioner Certificate – desirable but not essential.

This FTSE 250 Financial Services Company who specialise in Retirement Solutions are seeking an experienced Data Protection Specialist to join them on a 3-month contract to provide expert guidance on internal business projects. Working closely with their Data Protection Officer, you'll be helping ensure projects meet data protection compliance requirements and deadlines.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as the Data Protection SME across multiple internal projects.
