Key Responsibilities
- ROPA & Compliance Documentation: Maintain and enhance Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) and associated data protection and privacy compliance documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness and alignment with regulatory requirements.
- DPIAs & Privacy Risk Assessments: Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), assess privacy risks, identify potential compliance gaps and provide clear, actionable recommendations and mitigation measures.
- Regulatory Advice & Data Transfers: Provide specialist advice on data transfers, third-party and vendor compliance, and applicable data protection legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Third-Party & Outsourced Service Oversight: Manage outsourced privacy compliance services and third-party relationships, ensuring effective delivery, appropriate governance, clear accountability and adherence to agreed regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Data Breach Response & Reporting: Support data breach response activities, contribute to compliance monitoring and reporting, and help ensure privacy risks and incidents are appropriately documented and escalated.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Transfer: Deliver privacy awareness sessions and knowledge-transfer activities, helping stakeholders understand their responsibilities and embed good data protection practices across the organisation.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor developments in data protection legislation, regulatory guidance and industry practice, translating changes into practical recommendations and actions for the organisation.
- Senior-Level Compliance Reporting: Produce periodic privacy compliance and risk reports for senior stakeholders, providing clear visibility of compliance status, key risks, issues and recommended actions.
- Enterprise Privacy Platform Implementation & Adoption: Support the enhancement, implementation and ongoing adoption of the enterprise platform used to manage ROPA and DPIA activities. Drive process efficiency, improve data quality and support effective compliance oversight through better use of the platform.
Contract Opportunity | Data Protection & Privacy Compliance Manager Looking for a Data Protection & Privacy Compliance Manager/contractor to support and enhance UK GDPR/ GDPR compliance across the organisation. Well respected and international publishing and information services company. Day rate contract Duration circa 6-7 months UK and Europe + international Hybrid working with remote working flexibility – City/London offices Outside IR35 ASAP start (3 weeks to 1 month max) Interim contract services to help strengthen the organisation’s privacy compliance framework, improve governance and oversight of outsourced services. Management of privacy risks, and support the successful adoption of enterprise tools to enable sustainable GDPR compliance. You will have a clear career history as a data privacy & protection professional, with hands-on expertise/experience in ROPA management, DPIAs, privacy risk assessments and regulatory compliance. You will also bring strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with external service providers.
