Summary: The Data Protection Officer role is a 6-month contract position based in Kirkcaldy, focusing on providing strategic leadership and oversight in data protection and information governance. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent, expert advice on UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and wider information governance legislation.
- Offer strategic challenge and assurance on data protection risks, digital programmes, and major transformation initiatives.
- Strengthen Board-level decision-making by ensuring data ethics, transparency, and public trust remain central to organisational priorities.
- Support oversight of information-sharing, security governance, and data-driven service development.
- Champion the rights of individuals whose data is held, promoting a culture of accountability and integrity.
