Summary: The Data Protection & Information Governance Manager will lead the public sector client's efforts in data protection and information governance, ensuring compliance with relevant laws such as GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. This role involves advising senior stakeholders, developing policies, and promoting best practices within the organization. The position is based in Dudley and offers hybrid working arrangements. It is an initial 6-month contract paying up to £450 per day and classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the organisation’s approach to data protection and information governance.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and PECR.
- Advise senior stakeholders on data protection matters.
- Oversee policy development related to data protection and information governance.
- Drive best practice across the organisation.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience managing corporate data protection and information governance functions.
- In-depth knowledge of UK and EU data protection law.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks and compliance strategies.
- Relevant qualification such as ISEB/BCS Data Protection Certificate or equivalent.
