Summary: The Data Protection Engineer role involves addressing backup issues for large databases within a client's physical server environment. The position requires extensive experience with Commvault software, particularly IntelliSnap, and a background in banking or a similar regulated environment. The engineer will integrate storage and backup technologies while ensuring thorough documentation and task completion using Jira and Confluence. This is a 6-month contract with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring two days a week onsite in Sheffield.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address backup issues for large databases within the client's physical server estate.
• Integrate storage and backup technologies utilizing snapshot functionalities.
• Document processes and tasks using Jira and Confluence.
• Utilize Commvault software for Oracle database administration, installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Develop automation tooling using Commvault APIs.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver against the agreed High-Level Design (HLD) and Solution Design Document (SDD).

Key Skills:

• Extensive experience with Commvault software and IntelliSnap.
• Broad experience using Commvault APIs for automation.
• Experience in a financial institution or highly regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience with Commvault's Hyperscale-X platform.
