Summary: The Data Protection Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting global data privacy initiatives for a leading mining company. This position involves advising stakeholders, managing privacy risks, and ensuring compliance with the Group Data Privacy Policy. The specialist will conduct privacy assessments, handle data subject rights requests, and collaborate with various business units to address privacy compliance issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Data Protection Team in maintaining and implementing the global privacy program, policies, and documentation.
- Conduct privacy assessments, DPIAs, and manage privacy-by-design processes.
- Update Privacy and Cookie Notices.
- Handle data subject rights requests (DSARs) and assist with data breaches.
- Act as a global point of contact for data privacy queries.
- Maintain accurate records of data processing activities.
- Collaborate with business units to address privacy compliance issues.
- Ensure third-party stakeholders comply with privacy requirements.
Key Skills:
- Qualification in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong knowledge and commercial application of GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Understanding of IT governance and risk management techniques.
- Experience with OneTrust privacy modules.
- Knowledge of international privacy laws (POPIA, PIPEDA, CCPA, PIPL, PDPA, etc.).
- Conversational in Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, or Chinese.
