Summary: The role of Interim Data Project Manager involves leading various data projects within the Technology Department of a financial services institution. The candidate will be responsible for managing projects from inception to delivery, ensuring data integrity and effective communication with stakeholders. A strong background in project management and data processing is essential for success in this position. The role offers a competitive daily rate and the opportunity to work in a prestigious organization in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage data projects from initial concept through to final delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Identify and resolve data-related issues and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Develop project plans and timelines and monitor project progress.
  • Communicate project status and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project documentation.
  • Conduct post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within a data program, with at least 3 years managing data-related projects or programs.
  • Good understanding of data management, data governance, data analytics, MIS reporting and Business Intelligence concepts.
  • Familiarity with data management platforms and technologies (eg, data integration ETL, SQL, data warehouse/Big Query, Hadoop, Spark and other dataflow tools in general).
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (eg, Looker Studio, Power BI and Tableau)
  • Experience with Agile or Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical details into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capability to manage complex data-related challenges.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with project management tools (eg, Jira, MS Project, MS Office tools)
