Summary: The Data Mapping Engineer role focuses on supporting a large-scale data migration program, specifically utilizing IBM Maximo Asset Management. Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and interpret source and target data models to define clear mapping requirements
- Produce and maintain detailed mapping documentation, transformation logic, and integration rules
- Work closely with architects, analysts, and SMEs to ensure consistency in data meaning and usage
- Support data migration and integration activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies and mapping issues
- Maintain strong governance, including metadata documentation and traceability
- Uphold high standards of data quality, security, and compliance
- Contribute to best practices and continuous improvement across the data function
Key Skills:
- Experience working with IBM Maximo Asset Management
- Proven background in data mapping, data integration, or similar roles (eg, Technical BA, Data Analyst, Data Engineer)
- Strong understanding of data structures and modelling (conceptual/logical levels)
- Hands-on experience working with formats such as XML, JSON, CSV, EDI, Excel
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment

We're supporting a key client on a large-scale data migration programme and are looking for a Data Mapping Engineer to play a critical role in shaping how data is translated, transformed, and integrated across complex systems.

Working closely with technical and functional stakeholders, you'll ensure that data structures are aligned, consistent, and fit for purpose.

- Proven background in data mapping, data integration, or similar roles (eg, Technical BA, Data Analyst, Data Engineer)
- Strong understanding of data structures and modelling (conceptual/logical levels)
- Hands-on experience working with formats such as XML, JSON, CSV, EDI, Excel
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment
- Experience with ETL or integration tools (eg DataStage, Palantir)
- Familiarity with mapping documentation techniques (Excel mappings, UML, BPMN)
- Knowledge of XSLT or XML transformation tools
- Exposure to IBM DataStage Designer
- Must be a UK National with at least 5 years continuous residency
- Comfortable working in a mostly remote setup, with occasional travel (fully expensed)
