Summary: Billigence is seeking an experienced Data Management Consultant to support clients in the Retail and FMCG sectors. The role involves managing data throughout its lifecycle, ensuring governance and optimization for business value, while collaborating with both business and technical teams. The consultant will also promote best practices in data management and facilitate governance forums. This position is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer and organisational data across the full lifecycle in collaboration with Data Owners and the central data management function.
  • Develop, own, and communicate data management documentation, ensuring regular updates.
  • Support data engineers, architects, and stakeholders with expertise to improve lifecycle management.
  • Promote the value of data management, driving efficiencies and cost reduction.
  • Establish and facilitate governance forums such as Data Governance Working Groups in collaboration with MDM functions.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in data management or governance roles, with strong exposure to Master Data Management (MDM).
  • Experience in fast-paced Retail or FMCG organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, including metadata management, stewardship, and ownership.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and data protection regulations.
  • Ideally DAMA-DMBOK knowledge; CDMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred).
  • Familiarity with data governance tools (Alation desirable).
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and prioritisation skills.

About the role We are seeking an experienced Data Management Consultant to support our clients in Retail and FMCG.
