Role Overview
Whitehall Resources are currently looking for an experienced Data Lead to join a major SAP transformation programme.
This position will play a key role in coordinating data-related activities across both business and technical teams, ensuring data is defined, mapped, validated and governed effectively throughout the programme lifecycle. The successful consultant will work closely with SAP, testing and integration teams to ensure high-quality data readiness for testing, cutover and deployment activities.
Experience within complex SAP programmes is essential, with previous exposure to Teamcenter-to-SAP integration environments highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all data workstreams across the programme, ensuring alignment between business and technical stakeholders.
- Define and manage data requirements, ownership and readiness activities.
- Coordinate source-to-target mapping activities across multiple systems.
- Drive data quality assessments, cleansing activities and issue resolution.
- Establish and govern data validation, reconciliation and control processes.
- Support integration testing, system testing, UAT and cutover planning.
- Manage data-related risks, dependencies and reporting.
- Work closely with SAP, testing and integration teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Produce and maintain data strategy, documentation and governance artefacts.
- Provide regular status updates to programme leadership and key stakeholders.
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Lead on large-scale SAP, ERP or enterprise transformation programmes.
- Strong SAP data management experience.
- Extensive experience with:
- Data mapping
- Data quality management
- Data validation
- Data reconciliation
- Data governance
- Experience coordinating business data owners, SAP functional consultants and technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience producing data strategies, user stories, requirements and programme documentation.
- Ability to work across business and technology functions in complex delivery environments.
- Active SC Clearance, or eligibility to obtain clearance.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Teamcenter to SAP integration experience.
- Siemens Teamcenter or wider PLM experience.
- Experience defining functional and non-functional requirements.
- Experience producing data strategies, user stories and data-related test scenarios.
- Understanding of:
- Material Master data
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Engineering Change Management data
- Experience on Aerospace & Defence programmes.
- Experience within manufacturing or engineering-led organisations.
- Previous exposure to SAP-led integration and migration programmes.
- Experience supporting test strategy, test execution and progress reporting.
Security Clearance Requirements
Candidates with Active SC Clearance are strongly preferred.
Candidates without active clearance may still be considered, provided they are eligible to obtain SC Clearance. Applicants should typically:
Have lived in the UK continuously for the past 5 years.
Not have spent more than 25 consecutive days outside of the UK during the vetting period.
Be capable of meeting UK Security Clearance eligibility requirements.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Data Lead who is comfortable operating strategically while remaining close to delivery. You will have a strong SAP background, excellent stakeholder management skills and experience ensuring data readiness across complex transformation programmes. Previous Teamcenter integration experience would be highly advantageous, particularly within Aerospace & Defence, engineering or manufacturing environments.
