Summary: The Data Integration Engineer role is a hands-on technical position focused on supporting a global law firm with data platforms in SQL and custom APIs. The contractor will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex data integration issues, including debugging ETL/ELT processes and ensuring data integrity. The position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless data flow across systems. The contract is initially for 3 months with potential extensions, based in Manchester City Centre with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, analyze, and resolve complex data integration issues efficiently.
- Debug ETL/ELT processes and identify data discrepancies.
- Implement robust fixes and ensure data integrity verification.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and communicate technical issues.
- Extract, analyze, and manipulate large datasets using SQL and other query languages.
- Performance tuning queries for optimal efficiency.
Key Skills:
- Strong SQL Server skills (procedures, views, table design, indexing, optimisation).
- Familiarity with both REST and SOAP API.
- Experience with cloud (Azure) and APIs (Hubspot).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with client stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solver with a knack for untangling complex data sets.
- Good Power BI skills (nice to have).
- Experience in the Legal Sector / Law firms (highly desirable).
- Experience / Knowledge of Thomson Reuters Elite 3E (desirable).

We're hiring an experienced Data Integration Engineer contractor to support a global law firm working across data platforms in SQL and custom APIs. This is a hands-on technical role for an experienced as a Data Integration Engineer who is an expert at fixing errors, querying the data, updating data pipelines and general technical trouble shooting. Proven ability to diagnose, analyse, and resolve complex data integration issues efficiently. This includes debugging ETL/ELT processes, identifying data discrepancies, and implementing robust fixes. Expert proficiency in SQL and other query languages to extract, analyze, and manipulate large datasets. Competence in performance tuning queries for optimal efficiency and data integrity verification. Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, communicate technical issues, and ensure seamless data flow across systems.
