Summary: The Data Governance SME will join a government department's transformation programme, focusing on establishing and overseeing a data governance framework. This role involves strategic oversight, stakeholder management, and driving data quality assurance within a newly formed Data Office. The successful candidate will advocate for improved data practices and manage relationships across the department. SC clearance and extensive data governance experience are required for this long-term contract position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, maintain, communicate and monitor adherence to data governance framework, processes and standards
- Oversee design and embedding of data governance controls and forums
- Maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders
- Advocate for improved data risk management and practices
- Drive data quality assurance approach
- Manage and empower other parties in the Data Office and across the department to play their role in governance
- Provide SME input to maturity assessments
- Support operation of governance forums
Key Skills:
- SC clearance
- 5 years + Data Governance experience
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Ability to drive cultural change in relation to data usage across department
