Data Governance Consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and assess data sources against business, technical and operational priorities.
• Develop data onboarding roadmaps, schedules and implementation plans.
• Review data-sharing arrangements, security classifications, legal constraints and access requirements.
• Produce DPIAs, handling instructions and supporting information assurance documentation.
• Coordinate onboarding activity across technical, governance and stakeholder teams.
• Track progress, risks, dependencies and key decision points.
• Establish sustainable governance processes for future onboarding and changes to data access, ownership or policy.
• Support continuous improvement across data management, accessibility and compliance.

Required Experience

• Strong experience in data governance, data management or data onboarding within secure or regulated environments.
• Good understanding of data sharing, information assurance, data protection and compliance.
• Experience producing DPIAs and related governance documentation.
• Proven ability to assess, prioritise and onboard complex data sources.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Familiarity with data catalogues, data mesh or enterprise data platforms.
