Summary: This role is focused on the implementation and optimization of Microsoft Purview within the organization's data ecosystem. The Data Governance Consultant will lead initiatives related to data governance, regulatory compliance, and the use of Microsoft's data stack. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Purview and a strong understanding of data architecture and compliance regulations. Collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective governance practices is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Purview, including data cataloguing, classification, and lineage tracking.
  • Map and document the data landscape, including data lakes, databases, reporting layers, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with the Governance Team to embed regulatory compliance (GDPR, DORA) into daily operations.
  • Define and implement data governance policies, access controls, and metadata standards, with Purview as the central tool.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the Purview platform is efficient, scalable, and user-friendly.
  • Support the creation of Power BI dashboards to monitor governance KPIs and compliance metrics.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and Azure Data Services.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and metadata management.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and DORA regulations, particularly in the EU/German regulatory context.
  • Experience with data lakes, databases, and reporting tools (Power BI).
