Summary: The Data Governance Analyst (Literacy) role involves embedding data governance and literacy within an organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver a data literacy curriculum and structured learning modules for different user skill levels.
  • Curate the data catalogue and business glossary, partnering with vendors and product teams to increase user adoption.
  • Build tailored tool and dashboard onboarding plans for internal business functions.
  • Nurture an internal network of "Data Champions" to promote peer-to-peer learning and data culture.

Key Skills:

  • Recent experience in Data Governance Analysis with a track record of improving data literacy.
  • Hands-on experience managing and customizing major data catalogue tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, OvalEdge or similar).
  • Ability to translate complex data infrastructure into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Practical knowledge of end-to-end data management (DAMA DMBOK principles) and global GDPR compliance.
  • Intermediate understanding of tools like Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
  • Experience applying structured frameworks like Prosci or ADKAR to drive organizational adoption (desirable).

My leading client needs a Data Governance Analyst (Literacy) specialist contractor with proven experience in embedding data governance and data literacy and/or data culture into an organisation

Key Deliverables

  • Training Pathways: Create and deliver a data literacy curriculum and structured learning modules for different user skill levels.
  • Data Portal Management: Curate our data catalogue and business glossary, partnering with vendors and product teams to increase user adoption.
  • Departmental Onboarding: Build tailored tool and dashboard onboarding plans for internal business functions.
  • Data Community: Nurture an internal network of "Data Champions" to promote peer-to-peer learning and data culture.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Data Enablement: Recent experience in Data Governance Analysis with a track record of improving data literacy.
  • Data Catalogues: Hands-on experience managing and customising major data catalogue tools (eg, Alation, Collibra, OvalEdge or similar).
