Summary: The Data Engineering Consultant role focuses on supporting a major digital transformation within a FinTech company, specializing in building scalable data pipelines and enhancing FinOps and MLOps capabilities. Candidates will work on high-throughput data environments, utilizing their expertise in MLOps, ETL/Data Lakes, or SQL tuning. The position offers a contract rate of £500-800 per day and is classified as outside IR35. The role is hybrid, requiring two days a week in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build model deployment pipelines and CI/CD for ML tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, and Airflow.
- Design ingestion pipelines for ETL/Data Lake Engineering, working with tools such as Airbyte and Fivetran.
- Optimize queries, schema design, and database tuning for high-transaction FinTech workloads.
- Collaborate with data science teams to scale machine learning in production.
- Develop production-grade code in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
- Implement data governance and manage data lake and warehouse integrations.
Key Skills:
- Experience with high-scale data environments.
- Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to write production-grade code in Python, SQL, or similar.
- Prior experience in FinTech, SaaS, or consulting preferred.
- Familiarity with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Delta Lake.
