Summary: The Data Engineer role is a fixed-term contract position within a data-focused tech business in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing scalable data models and processing systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring data security and compliance. This hybrid role requires a strong background in data engineering and proficiency in various programming languages and database technologies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement scalable and efficient data models, databases, and processing systems.
  • Create and test additional reports/extracts required for customers.
  • Support the Data team with process implementation, E2E testing, and OLTP/OLAP reconciliation activities.
  • Build robust, fault-tolerant data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
  • Assist with report/data extract creation and data delivery activities related to service transitions.
  • Work with IT and DevOps teams to set up and maintain necessary infrastructure for data storage and processing.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and privacy.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data infrastructure, processes, and workflows.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency with SQL.
  • Thorough understanding of data modelling in a traditional Relational Database environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Strong knowledge of databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), data warehousing, and big data technologies.
  • Experience implementing data quality checks and validation processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data infrastructure, processes, and workflows.

About Data focused tech business within the automotive industry. Role - Data Engineer Type - Fixed term contract (3 months) Salary - £70,000 - £75,000 Location - Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office (Victoria, London) / 3 day remote Start - ASAP, need to have the ability to start by 8th August
