Summary: The Data Engineer at Arbitrum Foundation will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization's data infrastructure and delivering insights to support decision-making. This hybrid position involves designing data pipelines, integrating various data sources, and maintaining dashboards for internal teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Design & implement scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store data from multiple sources (blockchain data, Google Analytics, CRM, internal databases)
- Build & maintain a centralised data warehouse (BigQuery or similar) to unify structured and unstructured data
- Develop & optimise SQL queries for data extraction and reporting
- Create and maintain dashboards to visualize key metrics, helping teams make data-driven decisions
- Ensure data accuracy & reliability by implementing validation and quality assurance processes
- Automate data processes and improve efficiency through scripting (Python, SQL)
- Integrate Web3 analytics tools (e.g. Dune Analytics, Allium, Flipside, etc.) for blockchain data insights
- Assess leads (e.g. grant proposals, product requirement documents, etc) from a technical and data standpoint, focusing on the technical team capabilities, architecture and source code and the timeline credibility
Key Skills:
- Strong SQL skills (BigQuery, PostgreSQL, or similar)
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g. Airbyte, Fivetran, or other or custom-built solutions)
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
- Ability to work with a variety of APIs to extract and integrate data (e.g. Google Analytics, CRM, blockchain indexers)
- Understanding of blockchain data structures, and how to work with transaction data
- A pragmatic mindset—you know when to build from scratch and when to use existing solutions
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Looker, Google Data Studio, Metabase)

Your Role As a Data Engineer, you'll play a foundational role in reshaping our data infrastructure while also delivering key insights to drive decision-making. You’ll be responsible for setting up data pipelines, integrating multiple sources (on-chain & off-chain), and maintaining existing dashboards while creating new ones for our leadership and internal teams. This is a hybrid role, ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical challenge of data engineering and the business impact of analytics. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our data is accurate, accessible, and actionable.
Your Responsibilities
