Summary: The Data Engineer role focuses on Corporate Data Transformation and Integration (CDTI) within a consulting and technology services environment. The position requires expertise in Linux/UNIX shell scripting, PL/SQL, and SQL database management, while also involving collaboration with architects to address live issues and validate scripts. Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve live issues related to Corporate Data Transformation and Integration.
- Validate new versions of scripts using SQL Loader and Maestro/IBM Workload Scheduler.
- Ensure all changes are controlled in GitLab.
- Collaborate with architects to assess risks and consequences of changes.
- Support and maintain existing scripts and services.
- Contribute to defining practices, standards, and ways of working within the team.
- Participate in project work related to moving services to new infrastructure.
- Engage in on-the-job training and potential overtime/on-call opportunities.
Key Skills:
- Solid background in Linux/Unix.
- PL/SQL scripting experience.
- SQL database knowledge.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) (nice to have).
- Knowledge of IBM Workload Scheduler (nice to have).
- Experience with GitLab.
- Development experience.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Bamboo) (nice to have).
