Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the corporate data warehouse and Trusted Research Environment, including monitoring databases and resolving performance issues.
- Optimize environment performance in conjunction with the cloud hosting provider and recommend cost reduction opportunities.
- Develop complex data structures, data models, and ETL processes to support the Trust's data warehouse.
- Assist in the maintenance of a data asset catalogue for data discovery.
- Collaborate with information analysts and performance managers to develop data models for self-service analytics.
- Build, manage, monitor, and develop the corporate data warehouse environment.
- Ensure data warehouse integrity and design adequate backup solutions.
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
- Provide expert advice on Microsoft Azure and SQL Server applications and resolve complex technical issues.
- Review requirements for the implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of new data models.
- Monitor service component capacity and resource costs, initiating actions to resolve shortfalls.

The information team currently support management and clinicians throughout the organisation by providing information and analysis for planning, decision making, quality assurance and improvement. We are further developing our analytical tools and capabilities to rapidly increase the utilisation of anonymised clinical data to support research and to maximise the use of clinical data to increase understanding of the disease and treatment outcomes. We are looking for motivated data engineer to join our team, to play a pivotal role supporting the Information Development Manager to shape, develop, and maintain the Trusts new data ecosystem.
You will be educated to degree level and have experience and expertise in developing and maintaining Microsoft based SQL data warehouses and producing technical documentation to support a wide range of users.
You must be self-motivated and possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of staff within and external to the organisation.

1.1. To maintain and manage the corporate data warehouse and Trusted Research Environment. This will include and is not limited to monitoring databases, resolving performance issues, and testing system upgrades and patches.
