Summary: The Data Engineer role at Games Workshop involves supporting a global change initiative by replacing legacy Access Databases with robust ETL solutions. The position requires collaboration with the business to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading, while maintaining data integrity and advocating for best practices in coding and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, along with strong analytical and communication skills. This is a hybrid position on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Nottingham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust ETL solutions based on documented requirements.
  • Conduct peer reviews and assist in User Acceptance Testing.
  • Champion data integrity and accuracy in MI reporting.
  • Create well-performing data structures and streamline data processing workflows.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Write quality design specifications and maintain best practices in coding and version control.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in Data Warehousing within a Business Intelligence environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, Transact SQL, and writing stored procedures, tables, views, and functions.
  • ETL experience, particularly with Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Inquisitive mindset focused on continuous improvement.
