Summary: The role of Data Engineer involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that facilitate analytics and operational insights. The position requires strong technical skills in data integration and modeling, as well as experience with Azure data technologies. The contract is for a duration of 6 months and is classified as inside IR35. The working arrangement is hybrid, based in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain robust data pipelines integrating data from operational systems, APIs and third-party platforms
- Build batch and near-Real Time ingestion processes with strong monitoring, logging and error handling
- Develop and maintain data models to support reporting and analytics
- Manage workflow orchestration and scheduling (eg Airflow or similar)
- Support CI/CD, version control and deployments across dev, test and production environments
- Implement data quality checks, governance and documentation
- Collaborate with analysts, architects and technology teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions
Key Skills:
- Strong experience building data pipelines in modern data platforms
- Solid data modelling knowledge
- Experience with orchestration and scheduling tools
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Experience with Azure data technologies (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory)
- Understanding of data quality, reliability and CI/CD practices
Salary (Rate): £600 daily
