The Role
We are seeking an experienced Markit EDM Engineer to join a global asset manager on an initial 3–4 month contract, with scope for extension.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Markit EDM (MEDM) and will play a key role in supporting and developing data solutions within a complex financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain data solutions using Markit EDM (MEDM).
- Work with business and technology stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective EDM solutions.
- Develop and maintain data models, mappings, workflows and integrations within Markit EDM.
- Support data ingestion, transformation and distribution processes.
- Investigate and resolve data quality, integration and production issues.
- Work closely with wider Data Engineering and Technology teams to integrate MEDM with downstream/upstream platforms.
- Contribute to the enhancement and optimisation of existing data processes and architecture.
- Ensure solutions meet appropriate standards around data quality, governance, security and operational resilience.
- Produce appropriate technical documentation and support knowledge transfer where required.
Essential Experience
- Strong commercial experience working with Markit EDM / MEDM.
- Proven background in Data Engineering / Data Management.
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting EDM solutions.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience.
- Experience working with complex financial data.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated financial services environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within asset management / investment management.
- Knowledge of financial instruments, market data or investment data.
- Experience with data integration and ETL technologies.
- Cloud/data platform experience, particularly Azure.
- Experience with data quality, governance and lineage.
- Exposure to investment management systems and downstream data consumers.
