Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Data Engineer for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £400 - £450/day (inside IR35). This role will be based in Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with staff from within the team and from others across the organisation on a regular basis and will need to understand requirements and document specifications and present your implementation and analytics to both technical and non-technical staff.

Essential Skills:

  • Data modelling and building SQL relational database schemas
  • Significant Python programming experience in data processing/wrangling, and stats generation on large scale datasets
  • Data visualisation, web-based dashboard creation

Desirable Skills:

  • Grafana, Postgres, MQTT
  • Building automated data processing pipelines integrating API based data sources
  • Elastic software stack
  • Being able to interpret user requests to build suitable analysis and dashboards
