DATA ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - 6 MONTHS
One of Loriens leading Higher Education clients is looking for a highly experienced Data Engineer to join their team on an initial 6 month contract.
Must be able to attend Edinburgh office 1-2 days per week.
The role requires someone with considerable experience in building automated data processing with relational databases and real-time data feeds using python, and the creation of data visualisation dashboards and the supporting analytics. The role will require working with staff from within the team and from others across the organisation on a regular basis, and will need to understand requirements and document specifications and present your implementation and analytics to both technical and non-technical staff.
Required experience and skills:
- Data modelling and building SQL relational database schemes
- Significant Python programming experience in data processing/wrangling, and stats generation on large scale datasets
- Data visualisation, web-based dashboard creation
Desirable technical knowledge and experience of:
- Grafana, Postgres, MQTT
- Building automated data processing pipelines integrating API based data sources
- Elastic software stack
- Being able to interpret user requests to build suitable analysis and dashboards
- Being able to present and explain data analysis and visualisation to a broad user community
