Summary: A leading asset manager is seeking a skilled Snowflake/Azure Data Engineer to support a cloud-based data transformation initiative. The role involves developing a scalable and secure data platform, with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Experience in asset management is highly desirable, along with knowledge of Aladdin Data Cloud. The position is hybrid, based in London, and classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the evolution of a modern data platform by building pipelines and models using Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Snowflake.
  • Work alongside architects and engineering leads to implement secure, well-governed, and performant data infrastructure - leveraging tools like Git, Terraform, DBT, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines, transformation logic, and robust ingestion processes from various internal and third-party sources.
  • Translate data requirements from business stakeholders (across investment, risk, finance, and operations) into technical specifications and data models.
  • Maintain clean, well-documented architecture and development practices, with a focus on testable, reliable code.
  • Support downstream data consumption via Power BI or QlikView, helping to deliver timely, actionable insights.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience developing Snowflake data platforms in enterprise environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Experience with data pipeline orchestration, optimisation, and Real Time or near-Real Time data ingestion.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Scripting for complex transformations and data validation.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or QlikView for delivering data insights and visualisations.
  • Experience with Azure Functions is a plus.
  • Exposure to or experience with Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC) is beneficial but not required.
  • Previous work in asset management, banking, or financial services is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
