Summary: The Data Engineer role at Oh Polly involves driving data integration and management to support informed decision-making across various business functions. The position requires consolidating data from third-party tools into a cloud-based warehouse, focusing initially on Operations, Merchandising, and Digital Trading. The successful candidate will build ETL processes and ensure data quality while collaborating with the Tech team and other departments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the day-to-day data flows from third-party systems to the data environment for reporting and analysis.
  • Build ETL processes and data warehouse architecture to meet reporting and analysis needs.
  • Deliver ad-hoc data and reporting as required.
  • Drive best-practice process and project management for the Snowflake data warehouse.
  • Integrate new third-party systems and ensure data consistency and quality.
  • Develop a streamlined approach to data utilization across Operations functions.
  • Collaborate with the Tech team to ensure high-quality data output.
  • Collect business requirements to build out Oh Polly's future data strategy.
  • Apply best practices in data quality, governance, and project management.
  • Assist in problem-solving across teams.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with programming languages such as SQL and Python.
  • Experience with server and/or cloud SQL databases.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical data requirements.
  • Desirable experience with DBT for transformations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar engineering role.
  • Understanding of data processes and experience with ETL processes.
  • Experience in manipulating and analyzing data from large databases.
  • Project Management qualifications (e.g., Prince, Agile) are ideal but not essential.

Salary (Rate): £55,000
