Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and enhance existing data infrastructure to support automated data flows into reporting platforms.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to source, transform, and load data reliably.
  • Develop and manage data pipelines and orchestration workflows to automate data ingestion and processing.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across all Back End processes.
  • Work closely with reporting and dashboard leads to align data models with reporting requirements.
  • Identify and resolve data gaps, ensuring required metrics and KPIs are accurately captured.
  • Define metadata standards, data lineage, and documentation for data sources and processes.
  • Create clear guidelines and standards for data management, refresh cycles, and governance.
  • Produce visual outputs using real data where required to support dashboard development.
  • Define and implement processes for data refresh, validation, and quality assurance.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience designing and building ETL pipelines and automated data workflows.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and performance optimisation for BI tools.
  • Experience supporting Power BI dashboards or similar reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage principles.

We are supporting a large-scale data and reporting initiative within a complex public-sector environment. The programme is focused on improving automated reporting, data transparency, and decision-making through the enhancement of Back End data processes that feed a critical Power BI dashboard.

Role Overview

The Data Engineer/Analyst will take ownership of the processes that support automated dashboarding. The role will focus on ensuring data is accurately sourced, transformed, governed, and delivered in a timely and repeatable way.

The role will also focus on identifying opportunities to improve data maturity, extend dashboard capability, and strengthen governance and data foundations.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Automation

  • Assess and enhance existing data infrastructure to support automated data flows into reporting platforms.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to source, transform, and load data reliably.
  • Develop and manage data pipelines and orchestration workflows to automate data ingestion and processing.
