Summary: The Data Engineer role is a 5-month fixed-term contract focused on designing and building data feeds and applications within an agile scrum team. The position involves writing and testing ETL code, working with business users to configure data environments, and managing BI reports. The successful candidate will contribute to data process design and support software releases while collaborating closely with stakeholders. This role is part of the Customer team at Motability Operations, which aims to enhance customer interactions through data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build data feeds and related applications in an agile scrum team.
  • Write, test, and peer review ETL code in Oracle ODI.
  • Work with business users to design and configure self-serve data environments within the Snowflake data lake.
  • Analyze, develop, deliver, and manage BI reports.
  • Assist in the design of data processes, including data quality, reconciliation, testing, and governance.
  • Contribute to technical process improvement initiatives.
  • Release and support software through various environments, including production support.
  • Work with stakeholders to sign-off business requirements in UAT.
  • Assist in prioritization and estimation of tasks.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in building a data warehouse using ETL/ELT tools, preferably Oracle ODI.
  • Significant database experience in Snowflake or Oracle.
  • Excellent SQL skills.
  • Good knowledge of standard data formats (XML, JSON, CSV, etc.).
  • Proven experience delivering BI solutions for business requirements.
  • Experience with Agile development approaches.
  • Proven experience working in a cloud environment.
  • Desirable: Experience with Oracle ODI/OAS, AWS (Terraform, Lambda, Step Functions, S3), machine learning or data science (Python), and customer or vehicle data.
