Summary: The role of Data Consultant involves assessing the current data maturity of a Bristol-based client, defining a data strategy and roadmap, and leading the delivery of a new data warehouse. Data Consultant | Data Architect | Head of Data | Bristol | 6 Months | Outside IR35

Peaple Talent are working with a Bristol-based client who are undertaking a major review of their data capabilities. They’re looking for an experienced data consultant to:

  • Assess their current data maturity
  • Define a data strategy and roadmap
  • Lead the delivery of a new data warehouse

This is a broad, strategic role where you’ll operate as a hands-on technical consultant—guiding discovery, shaping long-term business strategy, and overseeing delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting a full data capability assessment
  • Creating a clear, actionable data strategy
  • Selecting appropriate vendors and tools
  • Supporting a company-wide growth strategy
  • Working alongside an ERP transformation programme

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience in data architecture, particularly in early-stage or immature environments
  • Proven ability to engage with executive teams and influence business-wide strategy
  • Backgrounds such as Interim Head of Data, Data Architect, or Lead Data Engineer are all welcome
  • Experience with Microsoft/Azure tech stack is strongly preferred

This is an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension. The role will require 2–3 days a week onsite in Bristol to effectively support ongoing business change. Flexible rates, within reason.
