Summary: The Data Centre Service Analyst role is focused on ensuring the efficient operation of data centre environments for a leading utilities client. The position involves managing incidents, coordinating with vendors, and supporting compliance and security measures. The analyst will also work on continuous improvement initiatives and infrastructure projects. This is a short-term contract position requiring BPSS clearance and a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Log and manage incidents, problems, changes, and service requests in line with ITIL best practices
- Coordinate third-party vendors, site access, and maintenance schedules
- Support Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes, including risk assessments and implementation planning
- Produce regular service performance and availability reports
- Maintain physical and logical access controls in line with ISO 27001 and internal policies
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and certification activities
- Ensure infrastructure standards are met (eg cabling, labelling, environmental controls - TIA-942, EN 50600)
- Assist with business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing
- Identify optimisation opportunities across power usage, efficiency, and resource utilisation
- Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and data centre expansion initiatives
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks
Key Skills:
- Experience in data centre operations or infrastructure support
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and ITSM tools
- Knowledge of data centre standards and compliance frameworks
- Ability to work with third-party vendors and stakeholders
