Summary: The Senior Data Centre Network Engineer role involves supporting a large-scale data centre transformation programme through the decommissioning and migration of critical network infrastructure. This hands-on position requires extensive experience in enterprise networking and a strong project delivery background. The role is hybrid, based in either Manchester or London, and is classified as inside IR35 for a 6-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end data centre decommissioning and network migration projects.
- Audit, migrate and retire enterprise network infrastructure.
- Develop traffic migration plans and validate network services following implementation.
- Work within structured change management processes and collaborate with multiple infrastructure teams.
- Produce and maintain network documentation and topology diagrams.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years' experience in enterprise or data centre networking.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst and ASR platforms.
- Excellent knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, STP, vPC and EVPN/VXLAN.
- Experience delivering brownfield migrations, infrastructure consolidations or data centre decommissioning projects.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Python or Ansible is desirable.
- Experience with Juniper, Cisco ACI or F5 would be advantageous.

Senior Data Centre Network Engineer | 6-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid (Manchester or London)
We're working with a leading enterprise organisation on a large-scale data centre transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Senior Data Centre Network Engineer to support the decommissioning and migration of critical network infrastructure.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be responsible for planning, migrating and retiring Legacy network environments while ensuring minimal disruption to business-critical services.
What You'll Be Doing
Deliver end-to-end data centre decommissioning and network migration projects.
Audit, migrate and retire enterprise network infrastructure.
Develop traffic migration plans and validate network services following implementation.
Work within structured change management processes and collaborate with multiple infrastructure teams.

What We're Looking For
10+ years' experience in enterprise or data centre networking.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst and ASR platforms.
