Summary: The Data Cabling Engineer role involves supporting a 6-month installation project in a large distribution centre in Glasgow. The engineer will be responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of Cat6 cabling, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols. The position requires both teamwork and independent work to meet project deadlines. Immediate availability is preferred for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of Cat6 structured cabling throughout a large-scale distribution facility
  • Routing and containment of cable through overhead trays and underfloor systems
  • Termination and testing of copper cabling
  • Adhering to site health & safety protocols and project specifications
  • Working efficiently within a team or independently to meet project deadlines

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in structured cabling installations, particularly with Cat6
  • Competent working with overhead and underfloor containment systems
  • Must provide own basic hand tools and PPE
  • All relevant industry tickets (e.g., ECS/CSCS) must be valid and in date
  • Strong understanding of health and safety standards on construction/industrial sites
  • Experience working in logistics, warehouse, or distribution centre environments (preferred)
  • IPAF and PASMA (advantageous but not essential)
