Summary: We are currently seeking an experienced Data Business Analyst/Technical Business Analyst for a long-term contract role focused on enhancing data structures, governance, and insights within the organization. The position involves facilitating workshops, analyzing data requirements, and producing reports to communicate findings effectively. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders to resolve data-related issues and develop data management resources. This opportunity is ideal for data professionals with a strong modeling background and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate workshops and gather business and data requirements from stakeholders
- Analyse existing documentation and workshop outputs to identify key insights
- Produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentation materials to explain data clearly
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify and resolve data-related issues
- Develop and maintain data glossaries, data catalogues, and data dictionaries
- Operate within an agile delivery environment
- Design and develop database structures and data models
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in data modelling, including concepts such as cardinality, normalisation, entity-relationship modelling, dimensional and hierarchical models, Kimball methodology, primary and foreign keys
- Proven ability to use modelling and collaboration tools such as Lucidchart, MS Visio, Miro (or similar)
- Experience producing reports and presentations that translate data into meaningful insights
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Good understanding of data governance principles, including data retention and GDPR
