Summary: The Data Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing the current SQL Server data warehouse and defining a future cloud-native solution on AWS. This role requires collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on the transformation roadmap. The analyst will conduct gap analyses and support the development of migration strategies while contributing to the overall data strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and document the current state of the SQL Server data warehouse, including data models, ETL processes, and reporting layers.
- Define the TO-BE state for a cloud-native data warehouse solution on AWS (e.g. Redshift, S3, Glue, etc.).
- Perform a detailed gap analysis, identifying discrepancies in data sources, structures, governance, and business logic.
- Engage with data engineers, architects, and business users to gather requirements and validate findings.
- Support the development of migration strategies, ensuring data integrity and alignment with business objectives.
- Contribute to the data strategy and roadmap, highlighting risks and dependencies.
Key Skills:
- Strong background as a Data Business Analyst within enterprise environments.
- In-depth experience with SQL Server data warehouses, including understanding of data structures and ETL.
- Practical knowledge of cloud migration projects, particularly involving AWS data services.
- Demonstrated experience delivering AS-IS / TO-BE analysis and producing clear, structured documentation.
- Strong analytical and communication skills to manage cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience working alongside data architecture and engineering teams.
Salary (Rate): £400 daily
