What You'll Do

As a Data Business Analyst based in London City, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how business intelligence is delivered within a leading asset management environment. Your day-to-day activities will involve designing robust reporting solutions using Power BI and Excel powered by SQL Server data-hubs. Leverage the latest SQL Server data-hub technology to design, build, and maintain insightful reports using Power BI and Excel with Power Query for internal and external stakeholders. Support various change and onboarding projects by producing and delivering automated management information tailored to evolving client requirements. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management information reports for all clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for head office submissions as well as regulatory needs. Develop performance reporting solutions that provide clear analysis of investment strategies, asset allocation, and portfolio performance across multiple asset classes. Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues proactively to ensure the integrity of all reporting outputs. Evaluate complex investment-related data sets to support strategic decision-making processes within the organisation. Provide temporary cover for the Regulatory Reporting team when required, ensuring continuity of critical reporting functions. What You Bring

To be successful as a Data Business Analyst, you will bring significant experience working with advanced business intelligence tools such as Power BI alongside expert-level Excel skills within an asset management business. You will also have: Hands-on experience with SQL Server databases—enabling you to manage complex datasets efficiently—and a deep understanding of investment products across various asset classes. Professional qualifications such as IMC or CFA Level 1 are essential indicators of your technical competence Advanced proficiency in Excel including Power Query for complex data manipulation tasks relevant to financial services reporting. Extensive experience using Power BI for building interactive dashboards and visualisations tailored to investment management needs. Solid understanding of SQL Server databases with proven ability to extract, transform, and analyse large volumes of financial data efficiently. Demonstrated track record of improving management information processes through automation within regulated environments. Comprehensive knowledge of Investment Book of Records (IBOR) principles as well as performance measurement standards such as GIPS. Relevant FCA-appropriate qualification for managing investments (e.g., IMC or CFA Level 1) demonstrating your commitment to professional standards. Deep familiarity with investment instruments across multiple asset classes—especially Fixed Income—and their implications for portfolio analysis. Clear understanding of what constitutes excellent client service in relation to management information delivery within asset management settings. Experience using Bloomberg or similar platforms for evaluating financial data as part of broader analytical responsibilities. Strong grasp of data management best practices including governance frameworks, quality assurance protocols, and risk identification/mitigation strategies.
