Summary: The Data Assurance Specialist role at a leading investment bank involves ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and scalability of critical securities modeling and pricing data across all company divisions. The position requires proactive problem-solving and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance data quality and support trade and client functions. Key Responsibilities:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of all product types and interact with various professionals such as traders, strategists, and other operations professionals
- Proactively resolve data exceptions, investigate and fix complex technical issues spanning multiple teams and vendors
- Partner with global product experts to resolve comprehensive reference data problems involving multiple stakeholders across teams and divisions
- Showcase meticulous attention to detail and master all aspects of product and pricing reference data, interpreting their attributes to all systems depending on these attributes
- Develop strong relationships with critical vendors providing reference data to enhance their controls and improve the product quality
- Implement your ideas for process improvement globally to uplift the entire process
- Collaborate with senior technologists and project managers on key projects to reshape the reference data support model used across the financial industry
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in disciplines such as Data Science, Statistics, or related fields.
- 1-3 years of working experience with data, ideally in the finance/ banking industry
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel/ SQL
- Proven analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and a meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with dynamic and aggressive deadlines
- Aptitude for building relationships and the ability to communicate complex issues to various internal clients with different levels of product experience
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and work well under pressure in a team environment
- Self-directed with the ability to prioritize efforts among competing demands and escalate issues quickly
- Dynamic analysis skills to highlight issues with products or business ideas
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to solve problems and explain underlying issues to non-technical clients or colleagues
