Summary: Outside IR35 Data Architect needed for a major UK transformation programme in a regulated insurance environment. The role focuses on hands-on delivery, shaping data flows, integrations, and migration patterns without a strategy or governance focus. The position involves working with a modern architecture that includes microservices, cloud, AI, and complex Legacy migration. This is a contract role with an initial duration of 6 months, requiring a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end data flows across multiple systems
- Translate requirements into data architecture and mapping solutions
- Support integration, migration, and system consolidation activity
- Define data pipelines and data movement (inbound/outbound)
- Work within microservices-based architectures
- Collaborate closely with BAs, Engineers, and Delivery teams
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on Data Architecture experience in delivery environments
- ETL/ELT and data streaming (Kafka) experience
- Strong understanding of microservices (essential)
- Experience in system integration and migration programmes
- AWS experience (GCP beneficial)
- Strong data mapping and data flow design skills
- Understanding of UK GDPR/regulated environments
Salary (Rate): £700 daily

Large-scale data modernisation and transformation programme, replacing a significant Legacy estate by moving multiple systems out of a central platform into a new target architecture. The landscape includes strong engineering capability across microservices, cloud, AI, and data-driven services, alongside complex Legacy migration.
This is a hands-on delivery role, shaping real data flows, integrations, and migration patterns. No strategy or governance focus purely build and deliver.
What you'll be doing;
