Summary: The Data Architect role at Lincolnshire Police involves leading the design and implementation of the Force's data architecture to enhance strategic and operational outcomes. The position requires collaboration with internal departments and partner organizations, providing expertise in data structuring and governance. The successful candidate will mentor a team of data professionals and align architectural designs with national data strategies. This temporary position is set to start on January 5, 2025, and end on January 10, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of the Force’s overall data architecture.
- Provide subject matter expertise to both internal departments and partner organisations.
- Support intelligence, research, investigations, and decision-making through effective data structuring.
- Guide and mentor a team including Data Engineers, BI Developers, Dashboard Designers, and more.
- Align architectural design with national and regional data strategies.
- Promote data governance, compliance, and quality across the Force.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar, with hands-on cloud platform experience (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Skilled in SQL, data modelling, ETL tools, and data visualisation platforms such as PowerBI or Qlik.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and project management capabilities.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of data privacy and security standards (e.g., GDPR).
- Full UK Driving Licence and ability to obtain security clearance.
- Previous experience in public sector or police data environments (desirable).
- Certification in data architecture or related domains (desirable).
