Summary: The Data Architect role requires an experienced professional with expertise in Medallion Architecture and various schema models to design and optimize data models for business and government reporting. The position involves collaboration with technical architects and the use of diverse database technologies, primarily within the Azure cloud ecosystem. The role is hybrid, allowing work from multiple locations including Manchester, Sheffield, London, and Coventry, and is set to start on April 1st. The contract is classified as inside IR35 with a daily rate of £500-550.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize data models, data dictionaries, and metadata systems to align with business objectives.
- Define and enforce data architecture standards across the organization to meet client needs, utilizing ERWin for data modeling.
- Collaborate with technical architects to ensure system designs adhere to best-practice data architecture principles.
- Work with diverse database technologies, including data lakes and cloud solutions such as Azure SQL, SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, Cosmos DB, and MongoDB.
- Develop data warehouses and lakes, leveraging SCVs or integrating with CDP platforms.
- Utilize ELT/ETL tools such as SSIS, Talend, or Informatica as needed.
Key Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Lead Data Architect with Azure Cloud technologies.
- Strong expertise in Azure SQL, Databricks Delta Lake, and Medallion Architecture.
- Proficiency in ERWin for designing enterprise data schemas and models.
- Excellent team communication skills and ability to mentor other data architects and modelers.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams and using Azure DevOps for project and sprint planning.
