Summary: The Data Architect role requires an experienced professional skilled in Medallion Architecture and various schema models to design dimensional data models for data products. The position involves optimizing data architecture standards and collaborating with technical architects to ensure adherence to best practices. The role is hybrid, allowing work from multiple locations including Manchester, Sheffield, London, and Coventry. The contract is for 6 months, starting on April 1st.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize data models, data dictionaries, and metadata systems to align with business objectives.
- Define and enforce data architecture standards across the organization to meet client needs, with ERWin as an essential tool for data modeling.
- Collaborate with technical architects to ensure system designs adhere to best-practice data architecture principles.
- Work with diverse database technologies, including data lakes and cloud solutions such as Azure SQL, SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, Cosmos DB, and MongoDB.
- Develop data warehouses and lakes, leveraging SCVs or integrating with CDP platforms.
- Experience with ELT/ETL tools such as SSIS, Talend, or Informatica is a plus.
Key Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Lead Data Architect working with Azure Cloud technologies, particularly Databricks Unity Catalog and Azure Data Factory.
- Strong expertise in Azure SQL, Databricks Delta Lake, and Medallion Architecture, with a focus on enterprise big data management and processing within the Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem.
- Proficiency in ERWin for designing enterprise data schemas and models.
- Excellent team communication skills, with the ability to mentor other data architects and modelers.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams, using Azure DevOps for project and sprint planning.
