Data Architect

Data Architect | £450 - £550 per day (Outside IR35) We're working with a leading data consultancy delivering a nationally significant data programme on this exciting opportunity. This is a rare chance for a hands-on Data Architect to take genuine ownership of a high-impact platform architecture, moving beyond high-level strategy to design and build alongside an elite engineering team. We are looking for a specialist who can navigate complex Palantir Foundry environments or equivalent enterprise ecosystems like Snowflake and Databricks.

The Role

• Lead the end-to-end architecture of a mission-critical data platform, from initial ingestion and transformation to governance and optimization.
• Take full responsibility for ontology design and complex data modelling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
• Act as the technical authority for the programme, justifying architectural decisions to senior stakeholders and translating technical roadmaps for non-technical audiences.
• Provide "in-the-weeds" guidance to engineering teams, ensuring implementation aligns with the architectural vision.
• Drive the successful delivery of a Palantir Foundry pilot or full-scale implementation within a high-visibility environment.

What You'll Need

• Extensive hands-on experience in Data Architecture, with a proven track record of building complex data platforms from scratch.
• Specific expertise in Palantir Foundry (Ontology, Pipeline Builder, Slate) or deep experience in equivalent enterprise stacks such as Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS/Azure/GCP data suites.
• Mastery of data modelling techniques and the ability to design sophisticated ontologies within large, complex organizational structures.
• Strong background in data pipeline architecture, encompassing ingestion, ETL/ELT transformation, and robust data governance frameworks.
• Exceptional communication skills and the confidence to operate as a decisive technical leader under pressure.
