Key Responsibilities:
- Support and enable Domain Experts through collaboration to ensure access to data and technology.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Data Architect Lead to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London. In this role, you will own and develop data orchestration and governance to best practices as well as help with setting direction of technology within the company and be proactive with finding work that serves the business. You’ll also contribute to setting the company’s technology direction and proactively identify opportunities that support business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Support and enable Domain Experts through two way conversations and collaboration to have the data and technology at their fingertips so they can be winners in their domain
- Manage and support the delivery of a constant stream of user stories from across the business (in some cases this role may own and deliver a specific user story, in some case they will manage the delivery of it by tech people, in others the user story is really in the hands of the domain expert or end user)
- Manage the relationship and accountability with Sistema, Pinnacle, internal tech personnel, contractors, Macquarie Cloud on behalf of the client and domain experts (These are our outsources tech providers)
- Manage the design and structure of tech and data stacks so that they best meet the business needs in terms of quality, cost, speed and reliability
- Solutions/options provider to allow Executive Decisions around tech and data stack and hiring to be made easily and effectively
About You
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar data role
- Strong data governance experience
- Confident, hands-on coding ability
- Comfortable acting as a technical authority - advising on approach and best practice and communicating clearly with non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Azure, SQL, Dagster, Airflow or similar tools acceptable
- Experience with Python scripting, React-based applications, FactSet and third-party web APIs
- Lead and develop a small, high-performing team
- Engage with and present to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders
- Design, build, and evolve the organisation’s cloud infrastructure
Desirable: Understanding of financial data experience with VBA scripting and related tools
